I hope you enjoy the
trip photos. I was able to combine three of my favorite things, travel, cycling, and photography. Every time I travel overseas, I learn not only more about the world I live in, but something about myself. I have been to some of these places multiple times, and I'm familiar with some of these airports, train systems, and town layouts. Germany and Holland are two of the best countries to bicycle in. If you are traveling to Europe and have a question or two, I would be glad to answer
by email. I am most familiar with France, Germany, Holland, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, and the UK. I have used the trains in most of these countries and I would suggest trying the trains, unless you have a larger group and can save some cost by using a car. Fuel is very expensive and the cost of parking in some cities is insane or impossible to find. Trains in Spain are the best and cheapest you will find. Trains in Spain, France, Holland and Italy are ultra cheap and you can buy them right before you board. Trains in the UK, Switzerland and now Germany are expensive, and almost as good as the other group I mentioned. I have driven in France, Italy, Germany, Holland, Belguim and Switzerland and driving there is easy but they have different road rules from country to country. Do not even think of renting a car and driving near London or in the UK for that matter. Not just because of the $10 a gallon gas but your safety is the major concern. Also add Paris to the do not drive zones. Also large Italian cities can get a little hairy (I've driven in some and now only take the trains). I'll be adding tips to this as I think of them. Bill
